Captured at the US Naval Academy grounds (Hospital Point) looking over the Severn River while practicing for the next day's performance.
The type of Jet is the Boeing F/C-18 Hornet.
The top speed is about mach 1.8 [1382.4 mph.]
The distance from New York to L.A. is about 3000 miles, which makes the best time about 2 1/2 hours.
They are not permitted to fly over about 650 mph. at air shows, but if they are over 10,000 feet, and not flying an airshow, they can go at top speed legally.
I've created an OOF (Out Of Frame), also known as OOB (Out Of Bounds) style of image for this subject capture.
I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau.
