The shape of the state of Maryland filled with iconic seafood of steamed crabs. I added two Great Blue Herons which are also associated with the great Chesapeake Bay. In addition I added an iconic slogan of the state, "The Land Of Pleasant Living" and in bold text the name of the state above the state, "MARYLAND". Lastly, I've added a light blue background, associated with the blue water of the Chesapeake Bay which runs through the state. It also sets off the contrasting orange shown by the steamed blue crabs filling the state shape.
This image is available with a transparent background for items besides prints such as T-shirts, mugs, tote bags, shower curtains, towels, etc.
I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau.
