Description
The image shows a DC-3 Twin-engine, fixed wing, propeller-driven airliner that resides at the Massey Air Museum and Aerodrome on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. A dramatic sunset highlights the background with a windmill silhouette behind the plane.
The Massey Air Museum is a living airport-museum reminiscent of rural airports of a by-gone era. Displays include: DC-3/C-47 & life-size replica 1911 Wright Glider & replica 1944 Corsair fighter, restored 1941 Stearman PT-17 biplane converted to 450 hp engine, 1943 Stinson V-77 �Reliant�, 1957 C.A.S.A. built "B�cker B� 131 �Jungmann�, 1939 Piper Cub, Wright R-2600 Radial engine (1700 h.p. used on B-25 & Grumman Avenger). Activities include a working restoration shop. On selected Summer weekends you can get a ride in a Stearman biplane (Reservations: 410 535-4136 http://biplaneairtours.com). Massey Aerodrome is a Public Airport with a 3000� x 100� grass runway.
The museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to education, and preservation of matters relating to grassroots aviation.
