An image of an orange Daylily growing wild in Pasadena, Maryland. A daylily is a flowering plant in the genus Hemerocallis. Gardening enthusiasts and professional horticulturalists have long bred daylily species for their attractive flowers. The daylily's botanical name, Hemerocallis, means "beauty for a day", and indeed most daylily flowers open in the morning and die by nightfall.
I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau. Gorgeous capture and display of this lovely daylily, Brian! I just love the dark background and your lighting and shadowing are superbly presented on this fine piece. Great framing too!
