3D stereo crossview image of Lily of the Valley flowers and a digitally added butterfly. To View: Gently converge (cross) your eyes and focus on the middle image that appears while ignoring the outside. If successful, this method becomes easier with practice and will become 2nd nature.
I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau. 🙂 - Hi Brian, good advice for those who have difficulties in merging two images ! - 👍 -

👍 - Brian, not only is it a most beautiful image, but it is also a perfect and marvelous 3D picture ! - Although I am lucky that I can 'snap' it into 3D is a split second, I am sure that with a bit of practice and patience and 'slowly' crossing your eyes everyone can do it too ! - 🙂 -
Brian Wallace replied:
Thanks Hartmut, for the nice comment. I'm so glad you're successful with "freeviewing" this stereo format. If you should have trouble "fusing" this type of image, try backing away a little from the monitor. It may help as it reduces the amount of distance your eyes need to converge. :)
