I'm a retired communications instructor/developer, raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (USA). I have a wide range of interests which include some artistic talent. My eclectic tastes, thirst for variety, and preference for images over words, eventually lead me through the internet to the world of 3D stereo in 2005. Since I've been with Fine Art America, I've focused primarily on regular photography with a touch of digital manipulation to better compose the images and ideas. Each time I think I've reached a peak, I find myself crossing another threshold that challenges my abilities and talents while paving way to another plateau. I love this. I saw my grandmother do this so often. Her apron was a do-all item of clothing, in addition to keeping her clothes free of cooking debris. It carried eggs, peas, okra, baby chicks that escaped from mama, wiped our tears or anything else on our face. If she didn't have an apron on, yep, she used her dress and yep, showed her slip. This is fabulous, Brian. Voted for it in the 2020 Contest for Your Story of Art. l/f

Thank you Laurel, for the thoughtful and kind comments on my drawing. I did it from a picture I took of her decades ago. I took a picture of my grandfather that day too as I recall and created an oil painting from it. "Elwood".
