Description
3D Stereo Crossview... To view 3D stereo depth, have the entire side-by-side image within view and gently converge (cross) your eyes and focus on the middle image that appears while ignoring the outside. Not everyone is successful with this viewing method but if you are, it becomes easier each time and eventually second nature.
Besides perceiving depth, other advantages to this "freeview" method is that no special eye-ware is required, full range of colors, and no ghosting issues. Also, the image may still be viewed in 2D by selecting only one side for viewing.
While visiting Terrapin Nature Park in Stevensville on Maryland's Eastern shore, I captured the sandy path of a dune with tall grass and foliage. The path leads you to the Chesapeake Bay which has a nice beach along the shoreline where people relax and wade into the water. For added interest and artistic value, I did another version with a whitetail fawn on the path. So, there now is a choice of two, with or without the deer.
