Description
Entry two, of Abbie Shores' "Edit This 49" challenge with original photograph "off I-40 in Lupton Arizona" donated by Fine Art America member, Gabby Ethington.
In this edit, I took on the theme of TV's "The X-Files". After auto-adjusting levels, tone, contrast, etc., I started by editing in a rectangular black opening on the left side of the cliff. Then I put a UFO partially inside the opening.
I added several more UFOs in flight with the closest hovering over an FBI vehicle. I had changed the original yellow color to green and added the text, "FBI" on the side door. The hovering UFO has a tractor beam which is apparently levitating "Mulder" off the ground near the FBI vehicle. I digitally added the suited figure in the tractor beam and replaced the face with Mulder. I blurred the figure and face a bit to match the distance and surrounding focus.
In the right foreground is a US soldier looking at the scene through binoculars. On the left foreground is a partial view of "Cigarette Smoking Man", holding a cigarette with the smoke rising into the air.
I enhanced artificial lights and sunlight reflections on the saucers, and a blue light illumination from the ship at the mountain entrance. The original image had a sign in the foreground which I enhanced by creating a new sign saying, "No Trespassing" "Keep Out", to add more drama and mystery to the scene.
I added all the additional elements maintaining the original light direction to keep lighting true throughout the image.
